Email App Review: Chuck Email App
With so many email apps on the market today, it can be tricky to decide which one – and it’s certainly not helped by the fact that so many of us now have two or more email accounts that we’d like to access in the same place that aren’t necessarily from the same provider!
Chuck is a new email app for your Apple smart device (iPhone or iPad) that can not only provide a sensible unification of all the different email addresses you might be using every day but also provides you with tools to deal with all the mess that has no doubt piled up in your inbox by now.
But what does it bring to the table that’s different from existing native mail app offerings or other email client apps?
We’ll be taking a deep dive into Chuck’s features, pricing, pros and cons, and more!
What Is the Chuck Email App?
Chuck is designed as a third-party email client for Apple mobile devices. What does this mean, exactly?
- An email client is what you (as someone who sends and reads emails) uses to interact with your emails.
- An Apple mobile device is anything with access to the Apple App Store on it.
- “Third-party” means that the app is not run by you or the main service you’re using to send your emails (e.g. Gmail, Microsoft Outlook). Instead, it’s run by somebody else who acts as a broker between the two other “parties”.
With over four years on the market, you can be sure that the app is not just a flash in the pan. After all, it must have something to it to still be getting attention after all this time!
Additionally, the parent company of Chuck, 410Labs, has experience in the desktop email client field as well as its other product Mailstrom.
That means they’ve got experience around knowing what should and shouldn’t be included in an email app.
Chuck Email App Features
Bulk Message Removal
Rather than laboriously working through your junk inbox, Chuck (rather fittingly) allows you to chuck out emails you no longer need just as easily as you would do with the trash in your kitchen.
Emails can be grouped by sender or a variety of other categories to help you delete and process them faster. After all, do you really need to read “Kathryn made a new post on Instagram!” every day?
Quick and Easy Unsubscription
We all know the feeling: one day you sign up for a free trial, and the next you’re bombarded by marketing emails from the organization. Not ideal!
Luckily, Chuck makes it easy to unsubscribe from multiple mailing lists at one time rather than having to go through each subscription and manually click unsubscribe.
You’ll be presented with a short list of all the lists you’re currently subscribed to, and all you need to do is check the relevant boxes and push a single button to unsubscribe in full.
Support for Standard and Custom Email Providers
As might be expected, Chuck is configured to work with all the major email players today, from Gmail to Outlook to iCloud and more.
What might be less expected, however, is its commitment to supporting custom mailboxes using IMAP connectivity.
This means that just about anybody should be able to integrate with the application, regardless of whether they are using a major email provider or running their server from their garage.
Chuck Email App Pricing
Like many players in the email client space, Chuck offers two tiers: a free tier, which gives you limited access to its feature suite, and a paid “Pro” tier that expands your access.
While all the features we discussed previously are available to both free and premium users, Chuck Pro offers further features including one-tap message removal that can speed up your email processing.
Chuck Pro costs $3.99/mo, or you can pay as an annual subscription for $39.99.

What Users Say About Chuck Email App
Great for Clearing Emails
Chuck aims to help people clean out their inboxes, and it performs this admirably!
Many reviews state that the app has helped them clean out a significant number of emails in a very short time – something that most of us can only dream of when using a standard mail client.
Usable Free Version
Many of those same reviews state that they were using the free version of the app.
An application offering both free and paid tiers often forces people who actually want to use the program to upgrade pretty quickly, but Chuck appears to have avoided this trap.
Unintuitive Sorting
While Chuck is built to organize your mailbox, everybody’s definition of organization is different – and there are a few reviews that have found the app’s methods unintuitive and at times actively unhelpful.
Examples include users needing to search every folder individually rather than “globally” searching an email inbox for a particular term/subject line, and the application sorting alphabetically rather than chronologically (although it’s worth noting that other reviews mention chronological sorting).
Negative Support Experiences
While the app may work great most of the time, there have been multiple users who have reported poor and dismissive experiences with the customer support team at Chuck when it breaks.
This seems to particularly be an issue with incoming emails, something that Chuck prides itself on dealing with well.
The Verdict On Chuck Email App: Is It Worth It?
If you’re looking for an email client designed to process incoming emails quickly and automate deletion of spam/old messages, then Chuck might be worth it for you!
It provides features to help with all of these processes, and that might be just what you need.
If you need something more fully featured (for instance, with a full search function or other specialized abilities), you might be better off going with a different client or using Chuck in combination with another client.
